The mindbump concept was born late one evening while I was experiencing a substantial bout of blogger's block. I googled a few of the usual suspects for inspiration - the top blogs and news sites. Everything was sorted neatly in its own little categories. Nothing really caught my attention. I needed something unexpected - something totally random.
Wouldn't it be great if someone could harness the incidental nature of true inspiration and present it in a quick and easy (yet still spontaneous) interface for bloggers?
Deciding that it was high time for me to try my hand at a Web 2.0 project, I determined that a successful blog prompt database should also include some sort of viral marketing perk for its contributors. The ability to promote one's blog or website for free came to mind almost immediately. After all, everybody wants a little buzz now and then.
With new blog writing prompts being added daily by so many unique visitors, the inspiration should remain fresh and diverse...and oh, so spontaneous.
